Hard pool cover

I've been thinking I can build "trusses" out of 1/2" conduit that will form a roof frame and then cover with vinyl corrugated panels. The plan is for the roof to be slid on a track/trolley
Away from directly above the pool for use and pushed back over the pool when not in use. The pool is ag 32x16.
Anyone attempt this?
Concerns?

1/2" conduit, regardless of material (unless of course its something light and strong like a 7075 series aluminum alloy) wont be strong enough in my opinion.
Dont forget that along with the dead load of the trusses and roofing, you will need to think about live loads of water (heavy rain), possibly snow (depending on where you are) and other loads such as children.

Can it be done?
Sure, but it wont be as economical as youd think.
