Hi, I'm getting this white chalky haze on my pool tile above the water line. My alk and ph levels are in line. The pool is older but I haven't had this problem in the past. I tried to clean them with acid but it didn't work. Any help is appreciated.

Hey Rick, we just had our pool replastered and we decided to keep the original tile as it wasn't that old. I too had the white line above the water line. I tried everything within reason and lots of elbow grease to get it out. Nothing worked. Our tile isn't the smooth, glazed type but the rough, textured type. I read that using a pumice stone can make things worse. We ended up dropping about $400 to have our tile dry mineral blasted. It took the guy about 20 minutes but he removed all the white buildup and allegedly the dry mineral blasting is more gentle than the glass bead blasting.
