2nd year with Salt Water Filteration System

This is our 2nd year with the Salt Water Filteration System.... Looking for some pointer for
this year. I was told to use Borax and another type of acid. I am not even really sure how many bags of salt to use to own pool up. Last year we experienced an algae problem and couldn't get our levels correct.

Here is what we are looking at:

10,000 gallon
Above Ground Intex Pool
22ft x 52 in
110 - 120 v pump
2500 gallon per hour flow rate
1900 gallon per hour system flow

Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome Sara - have you read any of the articles in Pool School?

Until you get a good test kit (TF-100 with Speed Stir (nice option)) I wouldn't put anything in the pool except bleach. Get the kit, run a complete set of tests and post your results. You will get plenty of good advice here.

Pool is up and and salt is added for the amount of gallons we have. Tonight a friend is coming by with his testing kit to test it and help me out...hopefully we can do this right and get it stabilized as to where it needs to be.
