SLAMming with shock n' swim

Hi!

I know per pool school it says that liquid chlorine or bleach is the best to use during SLAM, but I totally underestimated the amount I would need. Im worried that my levels are going to drop before I can make it to the store. I have some Shock 'n swim leftover...can I use that in the interim?

HTH Shock-N-Swim is cal-hypo, it will raise the CH levels as well as add chlorine. If your calcium levels are low enough it is reasonable to use, but pay attention to rising CH and don't use too much. High CH levels are a problem for any kind of pool.

Do you mean CH or CYA?

If CH is 60, yes, you can use a few bags of Cal-hypo safely.
