    OK

Should I have kept the FC at shock level during the entire testing period? Or just above the recommended max.?

If you had algae and were testing to see if your done with the SLAM, I would say to do an OCLT at SLAM level or close to it.
To just do an OCLT to confirm there is nothing consuming chlorine you can do that at normal FC levels or slightly higher. 😎

Re: Can you swim while adding CYA?

Just curious, loss of FC is to be 1ppm or less for OCLT. Then something other than daylight is consuming chlorine, correct? I guess it is minimal and safe?

Can you swim while adding CYA?

Correct. If you lose more than 1ppm of FC over night then something other than sunlight is consuming it. You can still lose a little and be good on the OCLT.
You are good to go. 😎

Next time get the powder and save a bunch of money. Put it in a sock and hang in front of a return.

    Take care.

Sock too much hassle which I've done before. Somethings worth the money in my opinion.
