New Pressure Gauge

PB opened the pool yesterday and replaced the pressure gauge. Base line on the old gauge has always been 18. Now the pressure is 15. Does the pump's baseline vary by gauge? i.e., is my new baseline 15 or is there something up and my pressure is 3 low.

If he also cleaned the filter, that may explain the lower pressure.
PSI is PSI as long as all the flows and losses remain equal.

Could also be though, that your old guage wasnt reading correctly.

Whatever the case may be though, lower pressure is usually a good thing. Less wear and tear on it. A reduction of 3 psi is nothing at all to worry about.

Yeah, just use 15 psi as your new baseline....so a backwash psi of around 19-20 would be about right.
