Replacing motor in Hayward Ecostar 3400 VSP question .

As I posted earlier my pump is not working anymore. Trips the breaker every time I switch to on position. I took the pump to local pump repair store- diagnose - motor is bad.
They did some research about replacing the motor and looks like the control panel have to be replaced as well otherwise the pump wont work. Is this possible ? Anyone know how much could cost the motor replacement for this pump ? Thank you .

If you get an exact replacement motor and the control panel is still working, then there is no need to replace the control panel.

So, either the control panel is also broken, or they are not using an exact replacement motor.

Thank you . The store specialist said that both parts (motor + panel) have to be replaced in the case the motor is bad as the new one won't work with the old panel ?
