I am good at breaking stuff

I seem to be having really bad luck lately, I must be the bad omen for pool equipment lol. So we had been having issues with the filter leaking out the back wash, we took it apart, cleaned everything up, put it together and it was no longer leaking. So we fired up the pump, and began to SLAM the pool. Well, over night, it leaked a ton out of the back wash (the good part I guess is that it leaked out the hose not the fitting lol). So I'm torn, should I fix the filter, it needs a diverter repair kit (around 50 bucks) or should I replace it? This is the filter that came with the pool, and I suspect it is older. It is a Jacuzzi 190L sand filter.

Recommendations?

As long as it is not leaking sand I would tend to say fix it.

No sand leaking out, no leaks elsewhere, I guess my only concern is due to it's age, if I'm just going to be pouring money into it.

50 bucks is a cheap pour compared to having to replace it.
