noodle arm skimmer extension

I made this to catch more stuff in the skimmer. I used 1/2 inch pvc and slid a pool noodle over it.

Ah.....I knew there had be someone that has done something like this !!!
I watch bugs...grass....etc...just float on by the skimmer. I thought I need to build an arm or they have to sell something?

I have seen a plastic clip-in wing you can attach to your skimmer opening in some pool catalog, but that noodle mod is the way I would go! (cheap LOL)
