Pump won't filter.

I tried to open my pool and back washed my filter, then rinsed. I then turned valve to filter, and noticed no pressure coming out of the return. Help! Thanks in advance. The filter is a jacuzzi model.

I'm not familiar with that filter, so can't be much help. However, there are many others here that can.

To help them help you, could you add your information, as outlined here?

No pressure or little pressure? My guess is that its either a DE filter or Cartridge filter and the elements need to be acid washed. I am always in the same boat every year I open the pool.

This is an above ground pool, 24ft. Around. it will backwash, and rinse fine. But when put on filter, there is no pressure at all coming out to filter the water.

Is the motor running, humming? Sounds like it's not pulling - maybe the impeller is stuck. You handy with taking things apart?

Silly question but you sure there's no shut off valves that you forgot to open?

My strainer basket housing cracked, and I had a friend replace it. A simple unscrew. two parts.....the housing and o- ring.

The only valve that would cause this would be on the filter out pipe. Do you have a heater? If yes, does it have a 3 valve bypass set-up?

Rather than having us guess about your equipment, could you fill out your profile etc as I had asked in the first reply?

Also, if your have a few pics of your equipment, that would be helpful also.
