possible alternate method of testing chlorine level

..Not sure if this is possible/practical.. At my place of work we have a X-ray fluorescence unit. We use it mainly for testing the thickness of various electroplated deposits. We also have a small vial which we can fill with plating sol'n... x-ray it, and it will give us the concentration of metal in the particular plating bath tested. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if an xrf unit would be capable of test chlorine level in pool water sample. It only takes a min or two to test the level with the TFT test kit, but it would be nice to verify the test kit results if possible.

I don't think that will work. X-ray fluorescence is best at determining elemental concentrations. We need to distinguish various forms of chlorine from each other, which I don't think you can do that way.
