    cmartin From Phoenix

    Hey all,

    Here's my pool

    https://plus.google.com/photos/10371...92663803851569

I bought the place in December and, thanks to TFP and a really cool pool guy, am tackling this pool with science. My goal is to be self-sufficient with this mutha!

I've already beat a pool full of decayed mulberry leaves and, more recently, a nasty algae infestation. She's almost back to normal. Right now I'm fighting waterfall leakage.

I hope to participate often here.

    Thanks for listening,
    Chris

    Welcome, Chris!

May I be the first to post....:

Troublefree does not mean Maintenancefree. It's like brushing your teeth: You can spend a couple minutes a day and pennies a week or go to the dentist once a year and spend several thousand dollars.
A pool is like a pet - you have to feed it every day, even the days you don't want to play with it!

    You need to SLAM!

    It's a pretty cool pool!
I'd bet you my bikini you'll never get TFP water from a pool store!

Man. I've been all over this pool for 3 weeks.

Welcome to TFP! On the bright side, at least you are starting the SLAM with a CYA level that is within our recommended range. Also, the SLAM article was recently revised. It's worth another look...SLAM - Shock Level And Maintain.

A good test kit is an investment, not an expense.
