Pump size for a spa with a spillway?

My spa has a waterfall spillway that goes into the main pool. The spillway pump needs to be replaced, and I wanted to know how small a pump I can get away with? The pump only serves one purpose, it takes water from the pool and puts it into the spa. There's another pump used for filtration.

The spa itself is approximately 700 gallons and the opening for the spillway is about a 3 feet.

Does the pump need a high pressure in order to create the waterfall effect? Will a 3/4hp be sufficient?

thanks

I am having a hard time understanding why you have a separate spillway pump. Does the spa have a separate filter and pump from the pool (i.e. 2 sets of equipment). Most setups use the same pump for the pool and spa filtering plus spillway.

But yes, a 3/4 HP is more than enough.
