Can I start up triton sand filter I'm backwash

Ready to start up pump and filter, but I just also did deep clean to filter. If I start up in filter mode, I'm concerned the filter residue will go into pool. Wondered if I could start up in back wash or rinse mode?

I would backwash, rinse and then filter as normal.

That is exactly the point of the "rinse" setting. Get that residue overboard before you put it back to "filter."
