Duckweed?

Hi all,
My mom has a pool in Baton Rouge, and claims that she gets duckweed growing in the pool even with her FC kept 3-7 and her CYA at 80 (salt pool). I can't help but think something is wrong. Living in Tucson, duckweed is not an issue I have to worry about. Can anyone in the deep south comment?

Duckweed floats on the top of the water, no? Does the pool have a skimmer?

Yep it does...not sure why it doesn't get sucked in. I'll ask.

Critters carry duckweed with them. Coons, ducks and geese could be bringing it to the pool.

While I see how it could get to the pool, I think it would NEVER get started with the FC/CYA she reports.
