Flow drops in a few hours - start/stop pump and the flow is normal

I have a 30k gallon vinyl liner with a per flex de filter with a salt system. When starting the pump flow is normal, but after a few hours the flow decreases to where the salt generator will not run. Stopping and starting the pump fixes the flow problem for the next few hours.

Other observations

No bubbles in the pump basket
No difference when the pool is dirty versus when it is clean.


Any ideas?

Welcome to TFP!

Take a look in the pump strainer basket and see if it is mostly full of air when you are having the problem.
