My above ground pool is partially underground by 2 feet. At what height does the heater, pump/filter need to be to operate properly? Does it all need to be below the skimmer, or can the heater be situated only 2/12 feet below the top of the pool?
The pump must be located so that the entire pump is below the lowest operating water level, and preferably a foot or two below that. The filter and heater can be somewhat higher than that without problems.
There are pumps available that don't have this limitation, but most above ground pump do.
