    changing o- ring

    Having to put in a new O-ring and pool is already up and running. do i have to drain below skimmer and returns in order to do this?
    AG 24' ( Columbia PL30-6 sand filter), 2hp 2 sp pump, cholorine, Tennessee

    Which o-ring is being changed?

    The spider gasket? If you have valves on your suction and return lines that you can close, then you would not need to drain any water.

    We need a little more information about your plumbing. Is the top of the sand filter above or below the waterline? Any valves in the plumbing so you can isolate equipment? Any unions to disconnect the plumbing? Hard plumbed or flex pvc?

    I dont have a cut off for water coming from the jets, but I do have a cut off from the skimmer.

    Then you will have to plug the returns or drain the water ... and while you are at it ... add a cutoff valve on the return line.
