Our rebar was installed about 2 weeks ago, and a few days later there was heavy rain. (Heavy as in, the entire pool just about filled up.)

Pool builder came in and put in a pump to drain the rainwater. After several days it was dry again, but the mud walls of the pool (behind the rebar) had eroded quite a bit.

Pool builder sent a crew out to get the mud off the rebar yesterday. They were supposed to come and do the gunnite today, but the crew went to the wrong house. Ugh...tomorrow's forecast is 4 inches of rain.

Pool builder is hoping they can come out tonight and do a "flashing" which he explained would be a quick coat of concrete on the mud walls to prevent them from eroding with the heavy rain tomorrow.

Should we be at all concerned with the structure of the pool BEHIND the rebar, namely all the mud that slid off? Pool builder has said that the important thing is that the rebar/concrete is solid and isn't worried about the condition of the mud/dirt walls of the pool.

What do you guys think?
