How does a pool cage effect your CYA level

We live in Fl.Our pool is in a screened cage.I know the screen cuts back the sunlight. Our pool is in sunlight for about 5hrs a day.Would we go on the low side of the recomended CYA level or the high side or does it matter. We will be going salt as soon as our pool has gone its 30 day cure.We are going to use the pool pilot total control system which calls for a 30-50ppm CYA level. What do you think?

The screens will cut down both on sunlight and on organic debris falling into the pool. Neither effect is dramatic, your chlorine usage will be at the lower end of the normal range for an outdoor pool, but nothing like an indoor pool.

I would keep CYA in the normal 30-50 range recommended for the Total Control system.
