I was told by several people that you should let the wood dry out before staining it. We picked ours up from Lowe's a month ago and it felt wet. Were going to stain ours this Fall.

They are correct. I had the wood delivered the 1st week of May and we get sooooo much sun that the boards were cupping within 3 weeks! The moisture was just about gone and I wanted to be done
Thanks all for the comments! Had the neighborhood kids over today for a "last day of school" party and we passed the stress test!
