    Sell or scrap it?

I have a Esther Williams 18' x 33' above ground pool and a new sand filter. The pool is approximately 30 to 40 yrs old. There is nothing wrong with it. It has a deck and walkway all the way around. Is this some thing I should sell or just scrap it?

If I were looking for a pool id take a look at it. Your not too far from me. I'll put the word out. Put it on CL and see if you have any action.

I would certainly agree with this. Seems like these days many people are buying the Intex which are only good for a handful of years I would guess.

Even if you do not get any money for it, I would certainly rather give it to someone for the labor of taking it away (and then having to buy a new liner) than just trashing.

    Re: Sell or scrap it?

If I new that before last weekend I just bought a used pool. But if you are selling the new filter with it you should be able to get $400-$500 range. Without the filter maybe $200-$300.

    Re: Sell or scrap it?

Don't forget to account for your time and effort in tearing it down and scrapping it or someone else showing up and doing all the work.

It is the labor that often results in these pools being given away.

The pool looks solid! If I didn't have one and had the space I would jump on it! Let us know if you sell it!
