New water fill after liner replacement

Hi
After so many issues, I finally replaced the liner, pool should be filled by tomorrow morning.
I just want to make sure as what do.

1- Test Water
2- balance water according to pool calculator
Run pump for......24 hrs??

I'm thinking that's what I need to do. Please confirm and correct if needed.
I would like to add borates to the pool. I read the thread, do I do this now or later?

You have the right idea.

Adjust your other levels first, before tackling borates.

Hi quick question.
Pool calculator said 138 oz of CYA, but according to pool school use only 1/2 to 1/3 of the amount called for.
I put 60 oz in 2 socks by the returns.
My ph is 7.8
TA is 40 after I put the soda ash.
Should I put baking soda to increase TA?
I input CYA amount into pool calc to see how much would it increase it says 17.
Should I put more now? Or wait a week and see what result comes up to?
I wanna put the chlorine soon, it's hot here, we already hitting 87-88F I want to make sure I put this in ASAP.

You should put in the amount of CYA that will get you to 40 ppm (total) and then forget about it.....don't retest.....assume it is in there

You should put your FC in now just like you want to do.....enough to get to 5 ppm or so. retest and add more daily to keep FC around the 3-5 ppm mark.

Can you tell us what article in Pool School says 1/2 to 1/3 of CYA? That needs to be changed.
