I need to find out if both my Polaris & Sand Filter pump @ the same time or can I turn off the Polaris without harming my sand filter pump, I just had an in ground pool installed & the guy I paid thousands of $$$ to won't answer my calls HELP, not even sure I am posting this right

Welcome to TFP!

The filter pump can run by itself, but it must be also on when you run the booster pump. There is definitely no need to run the filter pump all the time, usually 4-6 hours is plenty...
