I'm having a pool built and already have an existing covered porch. This porch has Mexican or Saltillo tile. I would love to have the decking and coping of the pool be the same, but I'm worried about the tile being slippery.
There are so many pictures of beautiful pools surrounded by Saltillo tile, but I cannot find any good info regarding the slickness of the tile.
Does anyone have any first-hand experience in Saltillo Tile? Should I get sealed or unsealed? Can skid-resistant products really make it safe, do they really work? Should I avoid this tile at all cost? Maybe just avoiding the coping being covered in it?
Please help! I would love to make the covered lanai and pool go together smoothly, but I really need it to be safe for my munchkins running around with wet feet!!
