25K gal. IG, vinyl, pool is 25 yrs, liner is one yr. just open and used TF-100 for first time. all readings are low or zero. what is first step. chlorine is zero, PH is very weak(below6.8) TA is 20, CYA is 80

If you post your numbers we can help more, but in general pH first then FC and then everything else, since you have a vinyl pool CH is not a concern, and TA is always last, almost something to do when you get bored

To help you out, please being to spend some time in Pool School. Start with the ABC's first and work on other things from there.

With a Cya 80, it is very important to understand what different Chlorine sources will add to your pool.

At present, you would not want to add Trichlor or Dichlor products. The ingredients are listed on the label.

To sum it up- Borax to raise PH. Then clorox to get the FC up. Make sure you check the chlorine/CYA chart to see what FC you need at your CYA level. Like mentioned, don't use any more pucks, they add more CYA and you can't get rid of it without draining pool!
