When I opened my pool a few weeks back, when it was still quite chilly and the water was in the 40's, I got a lot of snickers and comments. They mocked, ridiculed, and snickered.

Now, im at a party over the weekend. Everyone is chit chattin and I start over hearing "pool talk". Hearing things like "got to get my shock to kill the green monster". Heard one say about how they dreaded the open as it was so much work getting it clean.

Meanwhile, I come home to a sparkling pool sitting at 68 degrees!

I actually have, and this weekend did. I've not found one person willing to believe that you do not need the pool store. I think it is so ingrained in them that they cannot believe it could be this easy.

Same here. My pool is literally sparkling. It was clear to the bottom the day I opened it, but 3 days later, and it's perfect (just balancing now).

Too bad you can't get people to listen.

Just got off the phone with a friend who is opening his new (to him) pool for the first time. He's ready to do it our way, so I'm looking forward to grooming another convert.

Exactly why I'm opening this Thursday as well. Last week dumped couple gallons of liquid shock in just in case. The water looks great as well, just leafs and some debris that will need vacuuming as the winter cover was not on tight enough
