ground water question

We are in the middle of resurfacing our gunite pool and we are having ground water issues. Water was coming up from the bottom so we are adding a valve for that. The problem we are running into is that water was leaking in from around the light on the wall. So our contractor cut a hole in the wall to drain. Many days later water is still coming in. He wants to a sit for it to dry but after talking to a friend who is a civil engineer for our city he thinks it will always be an issue as our water table is really high.

Also the houses across the street all typically have sump pumps under their homes do to ground water.

Sounds like you need a well and sump pump by your pool as well. Kind of lucky the pool must have had the hydro pressure valve so the pool did not float out of the ground.
