Need advice with putting up a new salt water AG pool in yard

Ok so last 2 years we had up a 12' round pool and used bleach and borax to maintain. I felt like the pool was a 2nd job trying to get the levels right and my kids don't really care for chlorine, so I am thinking of buying a new rectangle pool 18' x 10' x 52" and using salt water and a SWG and the sand filter I bought. How do I go about starting? Do you just put the salt in and let the filter and SWG do the work? Do I need other chemicals to maintain a SW pool?

Not trying to be insulting here but want to be sure...
You do know that a SWG is a Salt-Water CHLORINE Generator?

You will not be ditching chlorine by going to one.

Using a SWCG will only change your method of dosing chlorine. Everything else would remain the same.
