Marcite stains?

Hello,
I've been lurking here for a while and SLAMmed my pool last year using your concept here and it worked like a charm.

I'm noticing now that the marcite is starting to look "old" the pool is about 9 years old and original finish, but I dont remember the pool looking like this when we first moved in.
are these stains or just a signal to start saving up a few $k and get ready for the hit?

How do the "stains" feel? rough? raise?

Could be calcium scaling. Can you post a full set of test results?
