First time have run into this probem went to clean out my pump basket. Closed the valve unscrewed the top and water was pouring out as if valve was open. Double checked valve was closed maybe bad memory but should the water keep flowing like that while cleaning out he basket now need two people to get the top back on and closed being pushed back with the water pressure? Is this ok or could I have. A possible problem? If so any ideas where the problem might be? Thanks

Did you close the valve on the suction line and the return line? Water may have been backing through the filter into the pump.
Im sure this was the issue, as I had the exact same issue today! Closed the suction valve but forgot the return.
I was only closing the one valve the intake, so if I understand I need to close both valves I take and outtake when cleaning pump basket? Thanks
Yep, and I even knew I needed to close both and still didn't. As soon as the water started flowing I knew right away where my issue was!
