Stabilizing the pool legs for my intex

I have a question about stabilizing the pool legs for my intex. My previous intex pool I poured concrete footers for each post/leg. My fiance thinks that's to much work. He owns a body shop and suggested we put metal plates under each post to prevent it from sinking. Do y'all think this will do the trick?

Sure that would work, if they are thick enough not to terribly bend ... they may eventually rust, but easy enough to replace. Some people have just used plywood and replace each season or concrete pavers.

He suggested that we should paint them to prevent rust. I had to move my last pool to level it because I was in a rush to get it set up. It does seem like a logical idea and a whole let less work. Thanks for your reply.
