TA is my pool is 120 I will not have prob getting it to 80 however my fill water has a TA of 150 and CH of 160. Will it be possible to keep my TA at 70 or 80 with that high of a TA in my water?
Considering using Borax I have a question though!

In your situation it is helpful to install an automatic acid feed system. That helps simplify the frequent acid additions that will very likely be needed.
How does an automatic acid feed system work?
Thanks for all of the help also. I came on here and read for 2 years before we built a pool. We build it in November so this is my first season and I feel lost but not at the mercy of the pool store!

There are a couple of different kinds of acid feed systems, all somewhat similar. Basically, you have a tank of acid which is slowly fed into the system any time the pump is running. This might be done by a small chemical feed pump or by a special valve that regulates the feed rate as acid gets pulled by pump suction.
Because of your high fill water TA, your TA will tend to go up, which will in turn tend to cause the PH to go up. Acid is added to counteract these increases. You can do the acid addition manually, or get a system like the ones I describe to add it for you.
