Pre Pool opening chlorine addition to limit algae growth??

I have a mesh green pool cover for my in-ground (details in signature). I would like to keep it as clear as possible before I open in another month or so and from experience last year it started out pretty green. Should I dump some liquid chlorine in while the cover is still on or maybe put a flouter in the deep end?

Any advice on this subjects?

You should only add chemicals if you have a way to circulate the water.

If you open while the water is still in the 50s, the likelihood of algae is lower. You should always close and open with the water in the 50s.
