Can I use a 48sqft FNS Plus grid assembly in a 60sqft body?

Have a 60sqft FNS Plus DE filter. Found a Craigslist ad for a 48sqft unit (with a cracked base). Any reason I can't pop in a 48sqft grid assembly (from top manifold to bottom spreader) as a spare set? Pool is being resurfaced so specifically I'm thinking a spare set I can really get mucked up.

Now that I'm looking at a parts breakout, I'm guessing that the 60sqft standpipe will be too tall for the 48sqft grid assembly. Unless, that is, the assembly is elevated off the base. Good idea/bad idea? Anyone else try this in the past?

Thanks!
