SGM" Southern Grout and Mortar- Ultra Pearl Brite pool surface finish = algae resist
Has anyone used or know about this premium pool material product Ultra Pearl Brite manufactured by SGM- a world leader in the pool material industry?? It cites as a benefit being algae resistant - They have a web site SGM.cc
WE recently had our pool resurfaced with this material and within two weeks after the start-up our crstal clear pool had alage growing on the walls-
so far we are not sure if the pool applicator did not use the materials we paid for - one observation was that in the prep the applicator did not follow the manufacturer gudelines of using the bonding agent BONDKOTE and instaed used plaster that was applied by brush splatter which covered at most 40% of surface and had a very irregular profile (volcanic rock) from 0"-3/4" thick - the removal of old plaster and algae was done by water power wash and that was the extent of it-
Can old algae grow through the new plaster/quartz pool material as mold does in grout lines??
Besides the algae problem and discoloration some of the surface material is cracking-
Any advise??
