Valve Actuation Socket - Name or part #?

Ok here's a bit of an oddball question, although I see it was asked once before a while back (without an answer.)

Last season I built my own automation controller to better micro-manage and track my solar setup. I am now trying to design/build a circuit board to make it easier to build similar Arduino or Raspberry Pi based systems.

I am looking to find a compatible connector for the Jandy/Goldine/Hayward automated valves. It's that little plastic bit on the end of the wire to connect the three wires to the controller. Does anyone know what that type of connector is called, have a part #, or info that could lead to a compatible part #?

    Thank you for any assistance.

No idea. I would guess it is easier to just cut off the connector on the actuator and find your own mating pair of connectors.

That's actually what I did with the system I already built, but want to do it "right" for this board. I also expect the real connector costs a lot less than a good set of terminal blocks.

I think that you want Jandy Part Number 2711 (3-pin connector).

Here is one for sale. This person might tell you the information you need. Although, they might not want to tell you if they think that you are going to compete with them.

Jandy might be willing to tell you.

The part might have some information printed, or molded into the plastic.

If you sent pictures to electronics suppliers, they would probably be able to tell you the information you need.

    Is this what you need?

Re: Valve Actuation Socket - Name or part #?

Thanks JamesW. That has helped a ton. Seems this is a generically called a [pool] "industry standard 3 pin JST connector". JST makes a large number of 3-pin connectors and has a 1000 page catalog of connectors. So what exactly IS the "industry standard" 3 pin JST connector?

The question now...which JST connector is it, and is it 2.5mm spacing or 2.54mm spacing? Still searching...but seem to be getting closer...

JST or a distributor like Digikey should be able to help.

One link that I gave shows a price of 1.67 each, which isn't bad unless you need a lot and want bulk pricing.

Re: Valve Actuation Socket - Name or part #?

I believe the board connection is JST XH series. In a few weeks I may be able to confirm.

Thank you for your help James. I think this answers a number of previously unresolved threads.
