Polaris plumbing

My booster pump is plumbed with Polaris brand flexible hose (3/4"). Is there a reason the installer didn't use rigid PVC?

I'm getting ready to redo my equipment pad and wondering If hard plumbing would be better.

It's very common for the booster pump to be plumbed with the flex hose even if the rest of the system is plumbed with rigid pvc.

I like rigid plumbing but it's not a huge deal for the booster pump.

Thanks. This is my first pool so don't have a lot of experience with different setups. I just wanted to make sure rigid PVC would be ok. That's how I plan to redo it.

Well, the Polaris flex pipe & their fittings do make it easy to remove the pump for repairs. With PVC, you're probably gonna need a at least one union or be prepared to cut & repair, when necessary.

My Polaris has had a couple of leaks at fittings and I also had to replace a cracked veloute over the past 20 years.

The one you're most comfortable with is probably the best!
