We’re a family of 7 who spend lots of time outside and have really wanted a pool for quite some time. My plan is to chronicle all the stages of the build as well as use this experience to help others.
Well we finally saved up some money so let’s get this thing started.
Fortunately we have a descent sized back yard per Houston standards and can allow for a pool to be built without taking up the whole thing. Plan was to use half the yard for playing and the other half for the pool. We’re also looking to have a 16x24 cover built with fireplace so we can sit outside and enjoy the weather.
After speaking with numerous PB’s we finally made our decision. PB was not the cheapest, but we wanted somebody that we felt comfortable with and could trust. Considering this is a huge expenditure, you really want to make it as pleasant as possible.
We wanted a geometric shaped pool without too many extras. First few designs looked to “boxy” so we added the L shelf to give it some style. Minimum amount of decking since the yard is extremely important for the kids. Decking color will be lighter to match the travertine.
The building is 16x24 with a large fireplace. It actually lines up with the house and pool.
