Pebble in the pool sweep bag...

Hello,

I had an in-ground pool installed in October 2013. It's about 20k gallons and has a pebble plaster surface. I was curious how long I should expect pebble to be present in the pool sweep bag. There seems to be about 1/4 to 1/3 cup in the bag each week. Will there always be pebble in the bag due to the nature of the product?

Welcome to TFP.

Are you sure what you're seeing is from the surface of the pool?
¼ cup per week isn't much but there shouldn't be any (or only a minute amount) coming from the surface at this time.

That does sound excessive, especially this far out.

I used to get a good bit of pebbles too. I was still seeing some over a year later, BUT I think I have realized that most/all of it now is just sand that is kicked / washed in from around the pool.

I think it's definitely pebble from the pool. There's only patio and bark around the pool itself. The chemical levels seem okay but I think I may call my builder just to be sure... though there's not much they'll be able to do about it, I'm sure. The pool is about 50 degrees F atm.

I have only seen about 1/4 cup total in the last couple years, do you see a lot of "holes" where the pebbles are dislodging from?
