Lately, most are done with driveway type pavers in sand with only the perimeter and the coping stuck down. One company wants to use 1/2" tiles in Travertine, rough up the surface and adhere it all down, then grout. They both seem to look very good, but does anyone have an opinion on either ?

If you have enough room vertically, I would do the pavers. That way if/when the concrete cracks, it won't crack all the way through to the top.
Thank you for your response. It makes sense, even though it is 25 years old, and should be settled pretty good. I guess if they want travertine, they could get it in paver thickness also.
