420 cartridge filter leaking from the bottom drain

I am a first time pool owner and cleaned my cartridges for the first time today. I also drain the bottom plug that releases all of the water and extra debris not caught in the cartridges. When I put everything back together, I now have a small leak coming from the bottom drain plug. I have hand tightened it to the point I can't physically turn it any tighter. Any ideas what I need to do to stop the leak?

You could use some thread sealant on the plug. If the plug is plastic use thread sealant rated for PVC. Teflon tape would probably work also but on threaded fittings I prefer thread sealant.

Don't go crazy tight on the plug either.
