    pump size question

    hi
I believe optimal size is 550w for my pool
    pump is broke
I do have however a 750w laying around

if I put him on 2hours on 750w instead of 3hours on 550w

it will be the same and make no difference right?

Are those EU specs or model #s. What brand is the pump?

Having your location and some more details might be helpful. Please follow these instructions: pool-school/read_before_you_post

    Re: pump size question

The bigger pump will just cost more to run. But run time has little to do with the size of pump. The pool can probably get away with the same run time either way but you can experiment to find out.

    Re: pump size question

but since the bigger pump filters more liters in 1 hour
it could run less time or not?

    Re: pump size question

Flow rates and turnovers really don't matter much for pump run time. Yes, to filter the same water you can run the larger pump less but that is not the main reason to run the pump. Pump run time is more about vacuuming and skimming than it is about filtering water. You might want to read through this: pool-school/pump_run_time
