The cost of salt ?`

Hi all,

I'm a very new owner of a salt water pool in Tuscany Italy. I've been left with some 15KG salt buckets by the pool company which are now empty. Anyone know roughly what it costs to buy these ? I know its going to vary from country to country, but just trying to get some rough ideas.

In Arkansas, USA it costs around $7.50 for a fourty (40) pound bag.

FYI,- 15 Kilograms equals roughly 33 Pounds or 40 lbs equals 18 kgs.

That is really high. It must be "pool salt". You can buy good softener salt with no additives and 99.9% pure for 4.50-5.50 per 40Lb bag here.

Pool salt in my neck of the woods (Eastern Canada) can be had at Walmart for 8.49 a 40lb bag, the exact same bag is 11.99 at all local pool stores.

so I guess at 60 euros for a 15Kg bucket of salt, this pool company I used is adding a bit of mark up to say the least !

That is almost the equivelent of $85 for 15 Kg....WOW! The cost on one 20Kg Bag where I worked was $5.99 or $4.37 Euro.

Yeh I suspect they are trying it on. They even wanted VAT tax on top of that.
