How to remove this eyeball fitting?

Hope someone can help, any idea's on how to remove this eyeball fitting? I'm wondering if there's a tool for the job as it looks like there are 2 holes top & bottom. The reason I want to remove it is to fit a slimebag to collect the fine stuff that goes right through the filter.. If it can't be removed easily, I was thinking of rigging up a hose to the backwash waste pipe and the other end to the slimebag in the pool. The idea being I could then vacuum to waste through the slimebag and save the water at the same time. Does this sound feasible?

There are several styles, most simply unscrew, others are push on, etc.

Just a little off the subject, but if visible debris is passing through your filter, there is a problem with your filter.

Secondly, what many people assume is debris returning to the pool is actually dead algae settling to the pool floor.
