Seaklear Spa System Flush - remove filters?

Trying to get rid of high chlorine demand (CD).

Seaklear spa system flush arrived today.
Instructions say to remove filters and run jets

HotSpring manual says to never run spa without filters.

What should I do?

Definitely remove them so that the foam can go straight down the pipes, but be careful if you have trees in the area. I removed the filters and then covered the tub with a plastic tarp to prevent pine cones/etc from dropping into the tub.
