Tanning shelf in a Vinyl pool - Is it possible?

I'm interested to see if it is possible to include a fairly good sized tanning shelf as part of a new vinyl pool. The tanning shelf would be 7 x 12 feet in size and between 6 and 8 inches deep. (possibly sloping from 6 inches to 8 inches to allow for dirt to runoff to the main pool area)

I've read that there can be problems with the liner coming up in that shallow of water? Are there other ways to reinforce the liner to make this work?

Certainly can be done. If you have a good fit, 6" of water is plenty to hold the liner in place.

I see no reason to slope it.....you won't get the dirt to "flow" off....it'll just settle. You'll have to brush it off.
