Adding CH

I need to add some CH. The levels are at 110. I have a vinyl pool and although I know CH is not "required" I would like to get it to 200 anyway.

My friend told me she dissolves everything in a contractors bucket first and then adds it to the water and then brushes. She said when she adds the CH, the water "puffs".

Is there a correct way to add the CH tabs to the pool?

Your CH of 110 is ok. The main reason to have calcium in a vinyl pool is to help prevent foamng since hard water does not foam as readily as soft water. If you really want to add more just predissolve it first in a bucket of water. It will get hot as it dissolves (this is why it's also used as a de icer in winter!)
