Rest easy...Temps would have to get down to around 14°F or so before you would have to worry about 8.25% bleach freezing. As for the acid, the freezing point of full-strength 31.45% MA is around -50°F, so virtually anyone in the contiguous 48 states would have no worries about the acid freezing. Even half-strength acid (~ 15%) would not freeze unless temps dipped just below 0°F.
 
You want the pump ON if the temperature is below freezing. Whether you trust a freeze sensor (if you even have one) or just manually turn your pump on is up to you.

It is so rare here, that I just turn the pump on over night ... that was before I had automation, so I might see how the freeze protect works.
