So my pool needs new plaster and the shell is cracked. When I drained it after a flood and I figured that I would investigate getting the work done water was leaking back into the pool. I could see the water spurting into the pool from a crack in the bottom. Overnight about 150 gallons leaked back into the pool. What do you make of that?

What that sounds like is ground water is leaking back into the pool. :!: I would fill it up some, or you may float your pool (a bad thing). :!:
I did. I guess that the water spurting back into the pool confirms that my shell is cracked. Huh? (1960's gunite pool with a plaster finish that has been painted twice )
